Production and Sustainability Co-ordinator
Based in our studio in Northcote, we have an exciting opportunity for a full time Production and Sustainability Co-ordinator to join the Northcote based Nancybird team.
About the role:
4-5 days a week.
You’ll play a key part in supporting our Creative Director and Design & Production team across our collection of homewares, leathergoods and apparel, as well as tracking and implementing improvements on our path to sustainability.
This role plays a crucial role in co-ordinating and managing the production of our homewares and accessories collections, as well as assisting in aspects of apparel production process.
What you’ll be doing:
Design Development Support
- Prepare CADS and tech packs for new homewares and accessories development
- Co-ordinate print strike off, homewares and accessories development, documenting changes required by Creative Director and updating relevant parties
- Assist Production Manager with apparel measuring and fit sessions, documenting changes where required.
- Communication with suppliers in homewares and accessories design and production process
- Management of homewares and accessories samples at each stage, including preparing samples for photoshoots
- Assist in writing product descriptions for homewares and accessories, liasing with marketing and design team to ensure all style information is complete and accurate
- Assist all campaign and ecommerce photoshoots
Production & Logistics
- Liaise with local and offshore manufacturers to track sampling, production, and delivery timelines
- Oversee quality control throughout all production stages — from sampling to final delivery
- Create and manage homewares and accessories OTB
- Raise purchase orders for homewares and accessories collections and establish production schedule timelines with suppliers
- Coordinate deliveries with suppliers and freight providers to ensure timely arrival
- Maintain and communicate production timelines across whole team
- Ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping across all stages of production
- Address and resolve quality control issues as they arise
Sustainability
- Research and recommend fabrics, leathers, and production methods that reflect our sustainable and ethical values
- Coordinate seasonal raw material and factory certifications through supplier engagement and file management
- Track and collate sustainability data to support B Corp responsibilities and drive continuous improvement across operations
- Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to communicate sustainability initiatives and progress to our audience.
What we're looking for:
- Relevant tertiary or related qualifications is preferred and minimum 2 year work experience within the fashion industry in a similar role
- Strong competency across Illustrator and CAD design
- Particularly competent with Microsoft Excel
- Experience with inventory program (Cin7) preferred
- Highly organised and systems oriented
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to work within a fast paced dynamic environment
- Be an excellent communicator both written and verbal
- Can work well within a small team
- Can do attitude, willing to learn and evolve
