2024: Reflections & Achievements
Before the new year really kicks into action, we’d like to take a moment to reflect and celebrate the achievements of what has been a vibrant and ever-evolving year in 2024. From strengthening our sustainability goals, collaborating with an incredible group of Australian artists, to reconnecting with our makers overseas, it’s been a year full of milestones and creativity.
Here’s a wrap-up and a huge thank you for being a part of it!
WE TOOK BIG STEPS TOWARD B CORP CERTIFICATION
Our journey to achieving B Corp status began this year, and if all goes to plan, we’ll reach this exciting milestone within the first half of the new year. This is an important step in our commitment to balancing purpose and profit while ensuring transparency and accountability.
WE JOINED SEAMLESS
In November we became members of Seamless, an Australian stewardship program which incentivises clothing design that is more durable, repairable,
sustainable and recyclable. Discover Seamless here.
WE WENT ALL-ELECTRIC (AND ADDED SOLAR!) TO OUR NEW WAREHOUSE
When we relocated to our new space late 2023, we began improvements on the building - installing a 6.6kW solar power system through the Darebin Solar Saver program in January, and we removed the gas heating and capped our gas meter in March (and used the old copper pipes for an exciting project happening in 2025!)
We even welcomed the Darebin team to our studio to discuss the solar project and our shared commitment to renewable energy. Watch the video here.
RECONNECTING WITH OUR MAKERS
One of the highlights for myself and our designer Sarah was reconnecting in person with our makers in India. A beautiful and vibrant photoshoot during the trip reminded us of the artistry, skill, and community that brings our collections to life.
OUR FIRST RUNWAY SHOW WITH JULUWARLU ART GROUP
A highlight of the year was sharing in our first-ever runway at the Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair (DAAF) from 2023. This was made possible through our collaboration with the Juluwarlu Art Group and artist Wendy Hubert, showcasing their stunning designs on a new stage.
COLLABORATING WITH INCREDIBLE AUSTRALIAN ARTISTS
We were so lucky to work alongside and support a diverse group of talented Australian artists this year. Collaborations included Lucy Anderson, Wendy Hubert, Mim Fluhrer, Nicola Woodcock, Ileigh Hellier, and our very first ceramic artist collaboration with the wonderful Kate Bowman. Visit the Journal for more.
GIVING BACK TO OUR COMMUNITY
We’re proud to share that we donated $31,588 this year through our membership with 1% for the Planet. This contribution reflects our ongoing commitment to environmental and community causes.
RELEASING ONE OF OUR MOST LOVED PRINTS
A special moment this year was the release of one of our most popular prints yet, inspired by a beautiful Bush Flowers bouquet. It was warming to see one of our in-house designs bring so much joy.Â
EXPANDING OUR SIZE RANGE
We proudly expanded our size range to 22 this year, ensuring more people can enjoy and feel great in our collections.
As we look back on 2024, we feel so grateful for your continued support, creativity, and connection. Every purchase, comment, and shared story has played a part in making this year so memorable. Here’s to an even brighter 2025!
Thank you for being part of our journey.
