We love this collaboration of Yuendumu artist Karen Napaljarri Barnes. She paints the budgerigars of her local area in a loose, colour blocked style.
The unique combination of silk, cashmere and cotton adds a little bit of luxury to the Aviary Knit, a crew neck knit featuring a cute intarsia budgie. This lightweight knit with beautiful warmth will become a favourite for many winters to come.

This style has a light metallic fleck through the yarn.

  • crew neck knit with intarsia design

  • contrast hand stitching on neckline and cuffs

  • 87% cotton, 8% cashmere, 3% silk, 2% lurex

Meet the Makers - Knitwear

We knit our garments in a small independent factory with six knitting machines in Dalang, China. We use Australian Merino yarn mainly, with some items in cotton or cotton blends.

This film shows some of the processes that went into this product - coating the yarn with silicon to make it machine ready, machine knitting, linking, finishing, shaping and ironing.
