Just thought I’d share a little pic of the shoot we did a little while back… It’s on of my most favourite things to do, hanging out at Tony’s studio styling the pics for the new season, placing a strap exactly so, moving a vase over a little, getting the folds right on the scarf and WHAM! It all falls into place. Love it. Anyway, these are a couple of the new things for next season – CUSHIONS! A BIG SCARF! And plently of other new things, can’t wait to show you.

There’s a super ace store in North Carlton called Belki.
I used to live around the corner, and when I was starting to make things on my sewing machine in the corner of my bedroom (circa 2001 or 2002, roundabouts), I brought them into Belki to see if they’d like to sell them. I still remember my fear!
Oh my gosh those first few stores that I approached have been etched into my memory.
Even though I had some crazy designs – prints of VFL football players, ripped frills hanging off the bags, etc etc, Tania from Belki kindly said that she really liked the colours I used but the footballers weren’t going to work for her… So I went away, thought about it and came up with a little range that she did end up selling at Belki.
They’ve been selling nancybird ever since, and we’ve been so lucky to have a store like this support us the whole way along.
Therefore I have always very much respected Tania’s opinion and her eye.
So ANYWAY, in a roundabout way I wanted to show you the chair Tania has just reupholstered for her kids… It’s in a Nancybird print, which is exciting, and I think it looks super cute!
I hope Tania’s little ones (or not so little now) enjoy the print with its fishing boats and nets and the fish swimming happily below.

If you are like me, and have been known to be buying all my Christmas presents on the 24th of December at closing time, this post might still be a bit early for you.
But for the rest of you that are totally onto it and are already thinking about that perfect present for partners, friends, sisters, I’ve got some suggestions for you.
They are my picks of the latest range – either things that have been super popular or my personal favourites.
I’ve even tried to think of personality types and budgets – I’m working for you, people…
Here goes:
Nougat West Bag – $450
This bag is seriously great. Jackie from Flourish in Hyde Park, Adelaide, was rocking this bag when she visited us in Melbs recently. Slouchy, great colours, love the print on the front. You could use it as an overnight bag, but I think it’s perfect as an every day bag.
As an add on, the Painting Thin Scarf would look PERFECT tied onto the bag or worn at the same time… It’s $39, and 100% silk.
Nice, huh. So these would work together or individually.
Another cute coupling are these two items. They’re for people that usually were mostly muted, simple colours and shapes and aren’t massive on crazy prints.
The Black Scarf Bag has been our most popular bag so YOU CAN’T GO WRONG. I promise.
It’s $240. And you can wear it 3 ways.
So this bag would sit really nicely with the Ink Long Scarf. It’s 100% silk and looks great on. $95. We have a hunch it’ll be on Offspring next season, and I’ve been wearing it on those chilly spring nights out as an alternative to a heavier winter scarf…
Then there’s the Water Canvas Tote, which is my pick of our bags to take to the beach. It has a leather strap, a big pocket with lovely mottled blues, and a heavy canvas body, with inside zip pockets. Perfect for beach holidays! And only $139! She’ll love it!
For crafty types, we have some fabrics… Handprinted in Melbourne by the lovely Ink and Spindle ladies, in exclusive nancybird designs and colours… This one is $18 per 25 cm length. Perfecto for summer craft projects – cushions, re-upholstering that old chair, quilts…
And finally for the man in your life, my pick is this bag. It’s not too huge, a really good every day bag size. It’s got great lining, a wide adjustable strap, and you know, all those things that men seem to need. It’s $330, and in Italian leather of course!
Hope this has helped! Of course there’s a miliion other options! Email us if you need any other suggestions, we’d always be happy to suggest something.
And there’s always our Gift Voucher option too!
Happy Christmas!
xxx Emily

We had the absolute pleasure last week of shooting our Autumn Winter catalogue at Schoolhouse Studios. It’s at the old Sophia Mundi School – a rambling old building that is getting knocked down next year. Some artists and designers have taken over the space (legally of course) until then, creating a little hub of creativity. We’re happy to have been able to document the space and community while it’s here for such a temporary amount of time – they only moved in this March!
Here are some pics, and some sneak peaks of our next range, which will be out next February….
Love this one with the school kids, they were fascinated!
Fun day. Thanks to Christina for taking these pics, and of course to Tony, Hannah, Silvana, Tessa May and Michael. AND the lovely Lizzy and Alice from Schoolhouse studios for letting us use their excellent space.

Natalie from Nest, down Tassie way, sent through these super cute pics of her store, and the new nancybird things. She certainly has a stylist’s touch, don’t you think? Beautifully, and simply displayed. Love your work Natalie x

The Grampians/Geriwerd were so lovely last weekend. I totally forgot to bring my camera and didn’t recharge any digital picture-taking device I had, so just got this one photo. It’s lovely, see:
Such beautiful colours there – the rock! Wow it’s amazing, and the wattle was incredible, just blankets of yellow.
This may have been naughty of me, but I brought back a souvenir of a walk we did at Chimney Pots. I have a resident botanist (ie I reside with a botanist), which is handy on walks like that, and he was telling me about an endangered Banksia – Banksia Saxicola – that is pretty much only found in little bits of the Grampians and Wilson’s Prom. It’s pretty lovely, I know everyone seems to love their seed head things, but they are hard to resist don’t you think? So here’s my souvenir:
Nice hey. Such great, graphic shapes…
There were also lots of wildflowers starting to spring up – chocolate lilies were everywhere, so pretty, and some little pea things, red and yellow? Don’t know their names, but also really striking.
An inspiring little trip.
