So how did this particular range come to be designed and made?
The nancybird collection features leather tanned in Italy, with
skins mostly sourced from Australia and New Zealand. It has been
custom produced just for this season.
The fabrics are sourced from Sri Lanka, from a small family
run textile mill, who hand weave and hand dye all fabrics.
Most of our screen prints have been printed in Melbourne, Kensington to be
exact, in a great big old warehouse by two lovely ladies.
All digital prints have been printed in Melbourne, down in
Springvale. We are really enjoying this process, and we
think it has added something special to the range.
Our silk scarves are digitally printed on 100% silk in India.
Finally, all of our bags, wallets and belts have been stitched, moulded and come to life by a small factory of about 60 super talented leatherworkers in China. It is a family run factory that has been producing leather accessories for over 20 years, and has fair working conditions for all employees, many whom have been with the company since they began. We have visited the manufacturers in China, and spend time every season working with them on producing the new range.
